Meet Y Combinator

Sometimes even the greatest startups need a little help along the way and that is often the role of ‘startup accelerators’. They provide support and funding in order to help fledgling businesses get off the ground, often before the idea has even been finalised. Y-Combinator is perhaps one of the most famous and successful of these accelerators. Since 2005 it has funded more than 700 startups which together have a combined valuation of over $30 billion and includes companies such as Dropbox, Reddit and AirBnB. This video produced by Techcrunch gives a brief insight into Y Combinator and what it takes for a startup to successfully apply.
