Last week over 20,000 entrepreneurs, developers and investors from around the world gathered in Ireland’s capital to attend the annual Dublin Web Summit, which since it began four years with just 400 attendees has grown in size without fail every year. With speakers including U2’s Bono, co-founder of Paypal Peter Thiel as well as the founders and CEO’s of technology companies such as Evernote, Dropbox, Soundcloud and Stripe, it is now one of the biggest events in the European startup calender. Also in attendance were investors from some of the world’s largest incubators and venture capital firms hoping to spot the next Facebook among the startups in attendance.
We attended for the first time this year and met hundreds of entrepreneurs and startups attempting to build the next wave of billion-dollar businesses. Over the next few weeks we will be sharing some of our highlights from the event, sharing the top trends in business that were being discussed as well as giving you an insight into what Web Summit 2014 was all about.
